What does the next website need?

Start with what the website needs to accomplish. Strategy, customer journeys, content and connected systems shape the work; page count is only one part. Answer the brief, then review the quantities to see whether a planning range is available.

What the estimate includes—and what it doesn’t

The base covers discovery and message structure, a responsive visual system, the first five marketing pages, standard CMS and contact form setup, basic analytics configuration, technical launch checks and handoff.

Additional pages are scoped around their layouts, content and functionality. There is no automatic per-page charge in this calculator; we review those requirements before providing a full-project range. Commerce and location allowances include their own templates, CMS structures and clean data imports; don’t count those records again as marketing pages, CMS additions or migration. Custom CMS and migration choices are for separate content such as resources and articles.

Recurring hosting, domain renewals, paid plugins and apps, transaction fees, ongoing SEO, support and advertising are separate. Legal drafting, photography, video and extensive data cleanup are not included. A regulated checkout or menu provider may require a different integration scope.

These are AV planning allowances for discussion, not industry spending benchmarks or binding quotes. Actual scope, dependencies and pricing are confirmed before work begins.

What needs a conversation?

Answer the remaining brief questions above. “Not sure yet” is a useful answer when something needs discovery.

Every project includes responsive design, accessibility checks, technical SEO foundations, QA and an editor handoff. Hosting, licenses, ongoing support, SEO and advertising are separate.

What the four project types mean

Professional Website

Clear messaging, a responsive design system and a dependable publishing and inquiry setup.

Growth Website

Deeper planning, distinct customer journeys or a broader content and team workflow.

Revenue Platform

Commerce or connected acquisition, qualification and outcome measurement.

Enterprise Digital Platform

Custom operational systems, critical data flows or a coordinated service transition.

These describe the work, not fixed packages or automatic price bands. A short website can carry substantial operational complexity; a larger site can reuse straightforward layouts.

How strong are your website’s foundations?

Your current website’s maturity is separate from the size of a future project. These answers don’t change the estimate or determine whether you are a fit.

Answer all four questions to see your current stage.

Compare the four website stages

Basic presence

The current site establishes a presence, but important foundations need attention.

Functional website

The essentials work, with gaps in clarity, ownership or the buyer journey.

Connected foundation

The website supports current services, team workflows and measurable next steps.

Continuous improvement

The team has a reliable website foundation and uses evidence to keep improving it.

A weak foundation can limit the overall stage even when other areas are strong. Investment follows the actual work needed; it is not assigned from a maturity score or company revenue.
